Once your Child Care Subsidy (CCS) claim is approved, there is a second, separate step you must complete before any subsidy is paid: confirming your child's enrolment details in your Centrelink online account through myGov. Your child care service, such as Kings Road Long Day Preschool, submits an enrolment notice based on your written agreement with them, and Services Australia will not pay any CCS until you have reviewed and confirmed those details online.

You do this by signing in to myGov, selecting Centrelink, then My family, Child Care, and Enrolments. Find the relevant enrolment, select View details, then Confirm, and work through the short review. If everything matches what you agreed with your service, you accept a declaration and submit. You will get a receipt number for your records.

If there is nothing to confirm at all, the most common reason is that your child care service has not yet submitted the enrolment notice, so there is a simple first step to try before assuming something has gone wrong.

What does "confirming your enrolment" actually mean?

Confirming your enrolment means telling Services Australia, through your Centrelink online account, that the enrolment notice submitted by your child care service correctly reflects your written agreement with them, known as a Complying Written Arrangement (CWA). This is a separate step from claiming CCS itself: your claim establishes that you are eligible, while the enrolment notice links your child, your family, and the service together and enables the provider to report actual sessions of care.

Services Australia can only start paying CCS once both steps are in place and you have confirmed the enrolment matches your CWA. This also protects families, since it gives you a chance to catch and correct any enrolment submitted with the wrong fees or sessions before any subsidy is calculated against it.

How do I confirm my child's enrolment on myGov, step by step?

You confirm your child's enrolment through your Centrelink online account via myGov, or the Express Plus Centrelink app.

  1. Sign in and find the task. Sign in to myGov, go to your Centrelink online account, and select the Confirm CCS Enrolment task, or go to My family, Child Care, then Enrolments.
  2. Open the enrolment and check the details. Find the relevant child and service, then select View details. Under Enrolment status, anything needing your attention shows as Pending Confirmation.
  3. Confirm or dispute. Select Confirm, then Begin, and answer the questions asked. If everything matches your agreement with the service, accept the declaration and select Submit. If something is wrong, indicate the details are incorrect instead.
  4. Keep your receipt, then sign out. You will get a Receipt ID for your records. Check the enrolment summary shows Confirmed, then sign out.

What does "Pending Confirmation" mean, and what if there is nothing to confirm?

Pending Confirmation means your provider has submitted an enrolment notice that is waiting for your review before any subsidy can be paid against it. If nothing appears in your account at all, the enrolment notice almost certainly has not been submitted yet.

Contact your child care service and ask them to submit it. The confirmation task will not appear until they do, so check back within a few days of asking.

What if the enrolment details do not match my written agreement?

If the fees, sessions, or other details do not reflect what you actually agreed in your Complying Written Arrangement, do not confirm it as correct. Use the same online review to indicate the details are wrong instead.

Speak to your child care service first, since they can often explain a discrepancy or resubmit a corrected notice. If you still disagree, dispute the enrolment online rather than confirming it. No CCS is paid against that enrolment until a corrected notice is submitted and confirmed.

What happens if my child stops attending, or the enrolment needs to be re-established?

An enrolment ends automatically if your child has not attended any session of care for 14 continuous weeks in a row, for example over an extended break, or it can end if you or your service tell Services Australia your child is no longer attending. Once an enrolment ends, it shows in your online account as ceased and Services Australia stops paying CCS for it. You generally cannot make updates to a ceased enrolment online yourself, so if you believe it ceased in error, contact the Centrelink families line or visit a Services Australia service centre.

If your child later returns to the same service, the enrolment has to be re-established from scratch: your provider submits a new enrolment notice, and you then go through the same confirmation process again before CCS resumes.

What happens after I confirm my enrolment?

Once confirmed, your provider's session reports for the days your child attends can be assessed, and Services Australia calculates and pays your CCS entitlement against them. Providers can submit session reports before you confirm, but no payment is calculated until confirmation is complete, so there is no benefit in delaying this step once the task appears in your account.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to confirm my child's enrolment every time, or just once?

Once per enrolment, when your provider first submits it, and again if they later submit a new or updated notice, for example after a gap in care or a change to your agreed fees or sessions.

What if my service says they have already submitted the enrolment, but I still cannot see it in myGov?

Check My family, then Child Care, then Enrolments. If it genuinely is not there after a few days, ask your provider to confirm they submitted it for the correct myGov-linked individual, since enrolments are tied to the specific person named in the Complying Written Arrangement.

Can my partner confirm the enrolment instead of me?

The individual named in the Complying Written Arrangement is the one who confirms it, since they are the person Services Australia recognises as liable for the fees under that agreement.

Will confirming my enrolment affect how much CCS I get?

No. Your CCS percentage and subsidised hours are calculated from your income, activity, and claim details. Confirming the enrolment simply allows payment to start against the sessions your provider reports.

What if I disagree with the enrolment and my service will not fix it?

Indicate the details are incorrect rather than confirming, and dispute it online if needed. No CCS is paid against that enrolment until a corrected notice is submitted and confirmed.
